The masonry repair work is extensive and largely comprises rebuilding missing elements and repointing the elevations. There are a limited number of stone replacements in the surviving walls. Masonry work is proceeding almost independently from the new build construction going on within the building.
When the roof was taken off by the Council for health and safety reasons, large parts of the high level masonry, including two pinnacles were pushed into the building. We understand that over the course of one weekend a lot of that masonry was stolen, but what was left is being used in the rebuilding supplemented with a lot of new stone to match. The masonry is being done by Stone Central.
