The demolition work began at the beginning of June after scaffolding was erected to the Upper Brook Street gable end and then down the sides of the chapel.  All the balcony has been taken down carefully to salvage parts of the timber, the remaining section of roof has been taken off the west end, and the intermediary full height internal wall was taken down by hand, brick by brick.

All the stone that was recovered from the inside of the chapel has been sorted and graded so that as much of it can be used again as possible.

In the background the design team has been very busy with a revised planning application to alter some of the internal layouts of the building, and also to get pre-commencement planning and listed building conditions discharged.
